Construction Estimator

ABOUT THE ROLE

Stealth Construction LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction estimating, with the ability to read complex drawings, perform accurate takeoffs, and prepare competitive, well-supported bids from start to finish.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review architectural, structural, civil, MEP, and other construction drawings and specifications.
• Perform accurate and detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial construction projects.
• Prepare complete project estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, conflicts, and potential cost impacts.
• Prepare RFIs and clarification requests when drawings or specifications are incomplete or unclear.
• Review project addenda and incorporate revisions into estimates.
• Prepare competitive and accurate bids in accordance with project requirements and deadlines.
• Assist with value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain organized bid documents, takeoffs, pricing, and estimate records.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors throughout the estimating process.
• Assist with project turnover by providing accurate scope, quantity, and pricing information to the project management team

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in commercial construction.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and details.
• Proven experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu is required.
• Experience with construction estimating and/or project management software.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction materials, methods, and sequencing.
• Ability to analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals and identify scope exclusions or discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and bid deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
