Commercial Plumbing Contractor in Houston & Across Texas

Commercial plumbing run by our own Texas-licensed master plumber — permitted, installed and inspected by the same company that builds the rest of your project.

Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners · Responsible Master Plumber Alex Carreon, Jr., License M-42452

In Texas, commercial plumbing can only be contracted under a Responsible Master Plumber — a master plumber licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners who answers for the work. In Houston, that master plumber must also be registered with the city before a plumbing permit can be pulled. Many general contractors don’t have one, so plumbing becomes a subcontract with its own schedule, its own crew and its own priorities.

We have one. Our master plumber runs plumbing as part of a self-performing commercial contractor, so plumbing permits, under-slab rough-in and inspections are scheduled against the pad and the pour by the same company that is building them — not negotiated with a sub who has three other jobs that week.

The scope covers new commercial construction, tenant finish-out and remodels, from the building sewer connection to the last fixture trim.

A master plumber on our payroll, not a subcontract

Texas plumbing law is strict about who can do what. Plumbing work on a commercial building has to be performed under a Responsible Master Plumber, whose license number the company must show when it advertises plumbing work, and whose name is on the permit. Apprentices and journeymen work under that master plumber’s supervision.

Having that license in-house is what lets us self-perform plumbing rather than buy it. The person accountable for the plumbing permit is part of the same project team as the superintendent, the concrete foreman and the MEP coordinator, so plumbing decisions are made on site, not passed through a subcontract.

Under-slab: the one window that cannot be missed

Under-slab plumbing has exactly one opportunity: after the building pad is proof-rolled and before the slab is poured. Everything — sanitary lines, floor drains, domestic water, sleeves — has to be set, tested and inspected inside that window. Miss something and the fix is a saw-cut through new concrete.

Because the same company builds the pad, sets the plumbing and pours the slab, that window is one planned sequence. Rough-in is laid out against the architectural and structural sets, tested, and inspected by the jurisdiction before a single yard of concrete is ordered.

C-stores, restaurants and truck stops

Fuel retail and food service carry plumbing scope that ordinary commercial buildings don’t: grease interceptors sized for the kitchen, separators for wash bays and shop floors, high-demand restrooms, ice and beverage equipment, and gas piping to cooking equipment. In the City of Houston, food service establishments must also have grease control equipment that the city’s grease program will approve and inspect.

We build these buildings — convenience stores, truck stops, travel centers and retail centers — so the plumbing is designed around how the building is actually used, not just what the fixture count says.

Code and permits in Houston and across Texas

The City of Houston enforces the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code with local amendments, effective January 2024, and only a master plumber registered with the city can obtain a plumbing permit there. Surrounding cities and counties adopt their own editions of the Uniform or International Plumbing Code, so requirements change at the city limit.

We handle plumbing permits, plan review comments and inspections as scheduled activities, and we know the difference between what Houston, Sugar Land, Katy, Rosenberg and the unincorporated county will each accept.

How It Runs

Our process

  1. Step 01

    Plan review & layout

Plumbing drawings reconciled against the architectural, structural and civil sets; fixture count, sizing and interceptor design confirmed.

  2. Step 02

    Permit

Plumbing permit pulled under our Responsible Master Plumber and registered with the jurisdiction.

  3. Step 03

    Under-slab rough-in

Waste, vent, water and drains set, tested and inspected in the window between pad and pour.

  4. Step 04

    Top-out

Above-slab distribution, venting, gas piping and roof drains installed once the structure is dried in, then tested and inspected.

  5. Step 05

    Equipment & interceptors

Water heaters, backflow assemblies, grease interceptors and equipment connections installed.

  6. Step 06

    Trim & final

Fixtures and trim set after finishes, systems tested, and the final plumbing inspection passed before turnover.

FAQ

Common questions

Are you a licensed plumbing contractor in Texas?

Yes. Our plumbing is performed under our own Responsible Master Plumber, licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. Our license number is shown on this page, and you can verify any Texas plumbing license on the TSBPE website.

Do you only do plumbing on your own projects?

Most of our plumbing runs inside the commercial buildings we construct, which is where self-performing it pays off most. We also take commercial plumbing on tenant finish-outs and remodels — call us with the scope and schedule and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

Can you install grease interceptors for restaurants and c-stores?

Yes. We size and install grease interceptors and grease traps for food service, along with the sinks, floor drains and equipment connections that go with them, and coordinate the inspections the city requires.

Do you install gas piping?

Yes. Natural gas and propane piping for water heaters, kitchen equipment and rooftop units is part of our plumbing scope, installed, pressure-tested and inspected under our plumbing permit.

Which plumbing code applies to my project?

It depends on the jurisdiction. The City of Houston enforces the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code with Houston amendments; nearby cities and counties may use a different edition or the International Plumbing Code. We confirm the governing code at the start of every project.

Do you take commercial plumbing work outside Houston, elsewhere in Texas?

Yes. We are based in Richmond, just southwest of Houston, and self-perform commercial plumbing work across Greater Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast — Katy, Sugar Land, Stafford, Rosenberg, Pearland, Manvel, Conroe, Baytown, Galveston and the surrounding area. We also take commercial projects elsewhere in Texas with our own crews and equipment; call us with the site location and we will tell you straight away whether it fits.
